EuroIslam Movie

Aims:

• Breaking up stereotypes
• Switching perspectives through awareness of cultural distances in every-day-life

Movie Script: A teenage-boy blames his Muslim environment for his personal problems. Through a homework assistant he accidentally gets in touch with his Muslim neighbours and starts reflecting on his stereotypes.

EuroIslam Provocation- A photography competition

Aims:

• sharing knowledge about muslim life and customs in non-muslim societies/communities
• spreading understanding on cultural and religious differences
• Make Non-Muslims familiar with muslim life

Implementation:

Phase 1: Open call for pictures/cartoons/photos „Expose a „provocative“ EuroIslam topic”

Phase 2 : The project team uploads the best ones on a website and invites all locals to comment on them

Phase 3:  The project team publishes the pictures & subtitles and calls the locals again to argue on all items

Results: The picture most commented on or most argued with wins the competition. Discussion on Euro-Islam matters is stimulated and emerges.

Description of the workshop

This workshop will be all about the project and it's events and activities. We will shortly discuss the topic and list the different aspects. Furtheron the Future Events will be presented and also the possibilities for Antenna and Individuals to participate and join as organisers will be discussed.

In the second part we will devide into 3 groups. The first group will discuss the possibilities and criteria for the movie that will be made during this year with the help of HyperMedia University (Italy), the second group will brainstorm and set up the criteria for the creativity contest (photography, essay, arts, music) and the third group will develope a possible 3 hours workshop and training of AEGEE members.
