    Ljubljana: The Kickoff

    Opening conference "Europe's (Torn?) Identity"

"Europe's (Torn?) Identity" was the title of the opening conference of the "EU and Europe" project. The event took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in October 2003 and was a forum of young people from all over Europe for discussing Europe’s Identity.

By different means, the participants reflected about their own local, regional, national and European identity, elaborated on what tendencies of nationalism and regionalism we are faced with in Europe and what makes us "European" in the past, present and future.

This aimed at raising both European awareness on, and an understanding of, "the other" by reducing stereotypes in a multicultural environment.

More information can be found the website of Europes (Torn?) Identity.
