“BISON HUNTING …”

February is the month when winter is governing our region! (hopefully we'll have frost and a lot of snow this year :) 
Hunting used to play a very important role in Polish tradition, especially in Bialystok which is surrounded by primeval forest .But unfortunately nowadays it's really difficult to meet bison on the loose because it's a quite rare and shy animal ,so luck and hunting skills are truly needed. But we'll take care that you "hunt" some pictures of bison with your cameras :) Don't worry, the expedition will be bloodless !:) 
 
"Hunting" it's the main point of our event, but before it will start we want to show you the culture and the religion variety of our "Green Lungs" Region. We think that Podlasie is beautiful and exceptional and we want to convince you about this!:)  
Moreover you will try regional dishes, learn Polish language and dances and spend time like young people here spend it in winter. 
 
The programme:  
 
1st day: Arrival of the participants, welcome evening with lecture "How to avoid hangover";) 
2nd day: Day with Jewish culture - trip to Tykocin; In the evening lecture "All you should know about European bison and how to find it in the forest" 
3rd day: whole day trip to the School of Writing Orthodox Icons in Bielsk - Podlaski, short folk dance course in Hajnówka and visiting the oldest Polish National Park in Białowieża (with the bison reserve) 
4th day: Visiting our city Białystok. Evening with Polish culture, learning Polish language. Another lecture about bison. 
5th day: whole day trip -"Folk handicraft route" ; Sledging cavalcade finished with bonfire, snow play and "hunting" on a "bison in the can" , as we can call our local beer brand ;)) 
6th day: Coming back to Białystok and saying goodbye to our guests. 
 
Of course every evening will be filled with AEGEE spirit !! :) 
 
Remarks: 
Please take a sleeping-bag, matress and pack your luggage in bag or backpack if possible(suitcase won't be comfortable for you). 

At 26th of February Aegee - Bialystok will be celebrating 5th birthday. We are preparing a great party, some guest from other antennas will come as well. It's gonna be great fun with great people and Aegee Spirit:). If you decide to stay after "Hunting Bison" event and join the party we will be really happy.  (It's not included in the fee, you have to pay extra)
