Nazreen Shaik completet her Bachelors of Social Sciences degree in 1995. She then proceeded to study towards a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1996, which she completed in 1997. In 1998 I was awarded a Master of Laws degree in Constitutional Law, Human Rights Law and Labor Law the University of Natal. Since January 1998, she has been teaching Public Law in South Africa. Her first appointment was at the University of Transkei, in 1999 she moved to the University of Stellenbosch. Simultaneously, she has been involved in investigating maladministration within public institutions through the establishment of Tribunals. She have also undertaken research in the realization of constitutional and human rights guarantees in South Africa. Another area of interest has been alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and their applicability in international peace processes and conflict resolution. In August 1999 she was awarded the Bradlow Fellowship at the University of Notre Dame (Center for Civil and Human Rights), Indiana, USA to pursue a Masters in International and Human Rights Law. |
