Zhidas Daskalovski graduated 1997 from the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) in Blagoevgrad with the double major Political Science/International Relations. In 1998 he received a master's degree in Southeast European studies at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest. His final thesis was entitled: "Development of Macedonian Nationalism 1814-1913".

Currently Zhidas is a ph.d candidate at the pol.sci deptartment of CEU. The topic of his disertation is: "Liberalism and Interethnic Justice".

Zhidas was awarded the CEU/Dahrendorf Fellowship for a visiting student at Oxford University.
