This seminar is scheduled to take
place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 9-13 November 2004. The main topics
addressed are:
- History and culture in order to
set the background of the discussion.
- Transition: Different stages of
development after the wars in former Yugoslav Republics – Looking forward.
- Western Balkans after the Summit of Thessaloniki (December 2002)
- Croatia as one of the next EU
member-states? What are the implications for the rest of Western Balkans?
- Albania, FYROM / Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo/a - problems to be
solved? The role of the EU and the UN?
- Western Balkans – similarities
and differences.
- Ethnic diversity – is there a
Balkan identity? How is this related to European identity?
