EAD - AEGEE-YerevanOn 28th of January “Employment Action Day” a day-long event was organized, which was covering the different aspects of youth employability and professional growth.

The event was attended by around 200 students and young professionals from the capital and other cities of the country.

Based on the survey results and positive feedbacks from the participants we can conclude that the event had a great success and positive impact.

Over 35 media hit on TV, radio youth channels and online news portals highlighted the event. Thanks to EAD wide public exposure AEGEE-Yerevan have caught the attention of Armenian Youth. Many of them for the first time learned about AEGEE.

EAD in Moskva https://www.projects.aegee.org/yue/ead-in-moskva/ Thu, 27 Jan 2011 21:22:07 +0000 http://www.projects.aegee.org/yue/?p=113 After receiving a letter from “Youth UnEmployment” project about the opportunity to support the EAD-idea at the local level and to organize the EAD-conference in our city, we agreed without any hesitation. The main problem was to choose the topic of our conference, because all of the offered themes seemed to be very interesting and important. But the two of them attracted our attention and aroused our interest: voluntary work and entrepreneurship. After a long controversy about the theme of the conference we decided to take them both. That’s why our conference assumed a special character and a program, which consisted of two different parts.

EAD - AEGEE-Moskva

The main idea we wanted to report to our future visitors was: “How voluntary work and entrepreneurship can help exactly you and what skills and experience you can have, being engaged in this fields”. But we also decided to have speakers from freedom of speech working group and the opportunity to choose the main theme of their reports.

The first part of our conference, held on 22-23 January, was devoted to voluntary work. As for a voluntary organization, for AEGEE this topic is very near and also very important. As special guests we had the President and Vice-President of the voluntary fund “The Kind Planet”, that helps children from children’s homes. They told us, how to get skills and experience to be successful in future work and also to help children, who needed our kindness and help. Another topic from this theme was “Voluntary work in sports”. 2014 Russia has Olympic Games in Sochi and there is a great amount of volunteers needed help there. The report was very interesting for those, who want to participate in this international event.

The second part of the conference was devoted to entrepreneurship and we’ve seen all the riches of our young specialists’ imagination there. We’ve invited students and post-graduates, who had already their own business. They told visitors about advantages and disadvantages of such kind of activity and discussed different problems, which need to be solved in this field. The projects were various: from internet-cites to cooking and producing honey. Also here we have discussed such an important topic as motivation for self-improvement, because it is one of the main reasons of success in entrepreneur business.

After the conference all of the presents were very inspired, but it was really difficult to decide where visitors wanted to be engaged in now: in voluntary work or in entrepreneurship. But in spite of the difficulty of choice, no doubt, that this event gave students the information they needed to choose their future way in life.

EAD in Skopje https://www.projects.aegee.org/yue/ead-in-skopje/ Thu, 27 Jan 2011 21:20:32 +0000 http://www.projects.aegee.org/yue/?p=111 As part of the activities in December of 2010, AEGEE – Skopje implemented the Employment Action Days, part of the „Youth UnEmployment Project“. We chose two from the offered topics and both action days went very well.

Before the beginning of each EAD there was time to introduce the participants with AEGEE and the „Youth UnEmployment Project“ and explain them why we are having this EADs.

The first one was dedicated to the subject „All About Getting a Job“, we had trainer from the National Center for Development of Innovation and Enterprenurial Learning and about 60 participants. Bojan Jovanovski, the trainer, was talking about ways of job-finding, how to act during job interview, writting CV and motivational letters and the students were participating in the presentation constantly by asking questions. They were realy into the topic, sharing different experiences of job interviews and job searching, asking for advices for their CVs and motivational letters etc. The point of the whole workshop was to motivate the participants and lead them to look for the job of their dreams, but, also, emphasize the good characteristics and experiences they have in front of their new potential employer.

The second EAD was held a week later and it was about volunteering, „Volunteering – it’s working experience!“. I was talking about volunteering in general and ways to use the volunteering experience as working experience. I was, also, talking about the attitude of the employers towards volunteers and why they would prefer employing a former or current volunteer. Me and the participants were mutualy sharing experiences and talking about places to volunteer in our country and internationaly. After my presentation we had guest presenter, Ondrej Masiar, an EVS volunteer in Skopje. He was realy kind for having a presentation for EVS and sharing his personal experience with the participants. They became more interested in the topic during the EAD and lot of them were enthusiastic about volunteering in the future.
